Urban Spotlight Arcade, Light art installation in Central Park, Cianjin District, Taiwan.
Urban Spotlight Arcade is a light art installation stretching along Wu-Fu Third Road, featuring a shaded walkway decorated with artistic elements and creative displays. The installation incorporates performance spaces, art trails, and viewing areas that guide visitors through the site.
The installation was established in 2001 with a display of citizen portraits from the community. In 2014, it underwent significant expansion to add performance spaces and extended art trails.
The space functions as a community gathering spot where residents encounter local artists and witness creative performances throughout the year. It has become a natural meeting place where people of all ages come together to experience contemporary art in their neighborhood.
The installation is easily reached through Central Park Station of Kaohsiung MRT, offering convenient access for visitors of all mobility levels. The site includes public restrooms and small shops where you can buy water and snacks.
The installation features 16 thematic light displays that transform the environment into an illuminated art gallery after sunset. What appears as a quiet daytime space suddenly reveals itself as a glowing exhibition when darkness falls, creating a completely different experience.
