Han-Lai New World Center, Hotel and skyscraper complex in Cianjin District, Taiwan
Han-Lai New World Center is a mixed-use tower featuring a hotel, department store, and retail spaces spread across 45 floors rising 186 meters high. The building includes seven basement levels that house additional shopping and service facilities.
Construction of this complex began in 1990 and was completed in 1995, marking a period of rapid urban growth in Kaohsiung. The project's finish symbolized the city's expansion of commercial infrastructure during that decade.
The building combines traditional neoclassical elements with contemporary Taiwanese architectural principles, reflecting the evolving design preferences of the 1990s.
The complex houses the Hanshin Department Store and many retail shops that draw shoppers from across the city. Visitors can navigate through both the upper floors and lower basement levels to find a range of shops and dining options.
With seven basement levels and a total floor area of 146,708 square meters, the structure ranks as the third tallest building in Kaohsiung.
