Liuhe Night Market

Liuhe Night Market is a night market in Kaohsiung with around 100 stalls spread across four blocks along Liuhe 2nd Road. The stalls offer seafood, traditional snacks, and local merchandise to visitors walking through the area.

The market was founded in 1950 as Dagangpu Night Market and started with simple food stalls. Over the decades it grew into a major destination that draws visitors from across the city.

The market showcases Taiwan's food traditions through specialties like seafood congee, steamed prawns, and local sausages with sticky rice that visitors can taste at different stalls. The atmosphere reflects daily routines of regulars who return often and have favorite vendors.

The market is easily reached via Formosa Boulevard Station exits 1, 9, and 11 and is accessible on foot to visitors. When you arrive in the evening hours, you have plenty of time to walk between stalls and try different foods.

Several vendors at the market have obtained halal certifications from the International Muslim Tourism Industry Development Association. This allows visitors with specific dietary needs to make informed choices about where to eat.
