Tuntex Sky Tower, Skyscraper in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Tuntex Sky Tower is an 85-story skyscraper in Lingya District, Kaohsiung, reaching a height of 323 meters (1,060 feet). The glass facade reflects daylight and city lights, while the building's form tapers upward and concludes with a pyramid-shaped crown.
Construction began in 1994 during a period when Taiwan experienced economic growth and modern high-rises appeared in several cities. The building was completed in 1997 and held the title of Taiwan's tallest structure until Taipei 101 took that position.
The building sits near metro stations and is within walking distance of the Sanduo Shopping District and Kaohsiung Exhibition Center. Observation decks and restaurants on the upper floors accommodate wheelchairs, and elevators connect all levels.
A continuous atrium extends from the 45th to the 83rd floor, forming an open vertical space that fills with natural light during the day. This design allows visitors to look down at lower levels through glass walls as they ascend.
