China Steel Corporation Headquarters, Corporate headquarters in Cianjhen District, Taiwan
The China Steel Corporation Headquarters is a modern office tower with 29 floors distinguished by a facade of four interconnected tubes surrounding a central core. The structure rises 135 meters and contains roughly 81,000 square meters of interior space, including offices for several international organizations.
The company relocated its main offices from Taipei to Kaohsiung in 1975, following Taiwan's industrial shift toward the southern port city. Construction of this newer headquarters took place from 2008 to 2012, representing the corporation's continued growth in the region.
The building's design expresses how Kaohsiung transformed into a modern industrial and business center over recent decades. Its presence shapes how people in the area experience contemporary Taiwan.
The building stands in Kaohsiung's business district near the harbor area and is accessible by public buses. The surrounding neighborhood is flat, making it easy to walk around and view the structure from different angles.
The facade's four-tube design creates an unusual silhouette that resembles bundled columns when seen from certain angles. This distinctive form was a deliberate choice to set the building apart from other skyscrapers in the city.
