Zhudong Township

Zhudong stretches across 53 square kilometers of land in central Hsinchu County, featuring rolling hills and modern industrial developments within its boundaries.

The settlement emerged during the Qing Dynasty under the name Chhiū-kí-nâ before transitioning to Japanese control in 1920, when it received its current name.

The Industrial Technology Research Institute campus within Zhudong contributes to Taiwan's technological advancement through research and development programs.

Four train stations serve the township, including Ronghua, Shangyuan, Zhudong, and Zhuzhong, connecting residents to major cities across Taiwan.

The name Zhudong translates to 'bamboo east,' indicating its geographical position relative to Hsinchu city and referencing the area's natural characteristics.
