Wuzhishan, Mountain summit in Hsinchu County, Taiwan
Wuzhishan is a summit in Hsinchu County, Taiwan, with five distinctive peaks arranged along the mountain ridge. The highest point reaches about 1,061 meters (3,482 feet) and together they form a shape that resembles an open hand.
The mountain was listed as number 30 in Taiwan's Xiao Bai Yue collection, a catalog of 100 suburban mountain peaks suitable for hikers of different abilities. This ranking established it as a recognized destination for recreational hiking.
The trail starts at Wuzhishan Zaojun Temple, where religious visitors gather and some stay overnight at the nearby Yuhuang Temple complex.
The main trail is approximately 6.5 kilometers long and typically takes 5 to 7 hours to complete. Parking and water dispensers are available at the temple entrance.
Each of the five peaks has different features, with Thumb Peak displaying a wooden marker. Middle Finger Peak contains two separate designation signs that help hikers navigate the summits.
