Paiyun Lodge

Paiyun Lodge is a mountain shelter located near Jade Mountain at high elevation in the national park. The facility provides dormitory-style sleeping areas and shared amenities for trekkers traversing this alpine region.

The shelter was built to support organized mountaineering activities in Taiwan and give more hikers access to the island's highest peaks. It has shaped hiking infrastructure in this region for many years.

The lodge functions as a meeting point for international and local hikers, creating connections between mountain enthusiasts while exploring Taiwan's natural heritage.

Access requires permits through Taiwan's national park system and reservations should be made well ahead of time, especially between October and April. Weather conditions are more stable during these months and trails are more passable.

Many visitors use the lodge specifically to acclimatize before attempting to climb Yushan at sunrise, Taiwan's highest mountain. The location serves as a strategic resting point for this demanding ascent.
