Houliao Weiling Temple

Houliao Weiling Temple is a Chinese temple located in Penghu County featuring traditional architecture with ornamental carvings and statues arranged throughout several halls and courtyards. The complex includes multiple ceremonial spaces decorated with detailed stonework and sculptural elements.

The temple was founded in 1602, making it one of the oldest religious structures in Penghu County and has served worshippers for over 4 centuries. Its long history reflects the region's spiritual traditions and community devotion.

This is the primary worship place for Baosheng Dadi, where local residents gather throughout the year for ceremonies and community celebrations.

The temple is accessible to visitors who can attend regular prayer sessions and observe religious activities throughout the year. The most lively time to visit is during local festivals when community participation is greatest.

Craftsmen from Fujian brought their stoneworking skills to Taiwan and their influence is visible in the intricate details throughout the temple structure. Much of the sculptural craftsmanship reflects this migration of expertise from mainland China.
