Jiaoxi Xietian Temple, Buddhist temple in Jiaoxi Township, Taiwan
The Xietian Temple features ornate stone carvings, red columns, and traditional Chinese architectural elements across its multi-level structure in northern Taiwan.
Established in 1804, the temple stands as one of northern Taiwan's principal religious centers, dedicated to the military deity Guan Yu.
The temple holds major ceremonies on the lunar calendar's first month day 13 and sixth month day 24, gathering deities from Xietian temples nationwide.
Located at 51 Zhongshan Road Section 1, the temple opens daily from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM, with direct access from Jiaoxi Station.
During spring ceremonies, local children perform in soldiers' costumes while traditional offerings include sticky rice molded into turtle shapes.
