Guantang LNG Terminal, Regasification terminal in Guanyin District, Taoyuan, Taiwan
Guantang LNG Terminal is a regasification facility located in Guanyin District along the Taoyuan coast. The complex includes storage tanks, piping systems, and processing equipment designed to convert liquefied natural gas back into gaseous form for distribution to power plants and industrial users.
The project received environmental impact assessment approval in October 2018 following modifications to protect local marine ecosystems. The facility's development responded to Taiwan's growing energy demand and the need to secure additional gas supplies.
The construction of this terminal represents Taiwan's shift toward diversified energy sources and reduced dependence on traditional power generation methods.
This is an operational industrial facility not open to public visits. The site is located in a restricted coastal zone that is off-limits to the general public.
The facility employs modular construction methods, an innovative approach being applied for the first time to an LNG project in Taiwan. This approach allows faster assembly and greater flexibility in how components are installed.
