Guanyin Haishui Yuchang

Guanyin Haishui Yuchang is a public beach on Taiwan's western coast featuring a wide sandy shoreline and modern facilities spread throughout. Tall wind turbines dominate the seascape, creating a distinctive industrial presence against the natural waterfront.

The beach was once a favored swimming destination for North Taiwan visitors but fell out of use due to water quality concerns over past decades. It was later redeveloped into a recreational area incorporating modern wind energy infrastructure.

Local families gather at the Mediterranean-style pavilion to observe traditional fishing practices and collect hermit crabs during low tide.

The location is well served by public transportation from Taoyuan, with washing stations and restroom facilities available throughout the beach area. These amenities make visiting comfortable regardless of season or activity preferences.

The wind turbines function as both power generators and geographical markers that help ships and coastal users navigate the area. They have transformed this former swimming destination into an unexpected example of renewable energy integration with recreational space.
