Ganquan Temple

Ganquan Temple is a Buddhist temple in Kaohsiung that combines modern architecture with traditional Buddhist design. The building spans multiple levels and includes meditation halls, teaching areas, and garden spaces throughout.

The temple was founded in 1967 as part of the Fo Guang Shan organization's expansion and marked a period of Buddhist renewal in Taiwan. This era represented a turning point when traditional teachings gained new followers across the island.

The temple serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors practice meditation and attend Buddhist teachings throughout the day. The spaces are designed to welcome people of different backgrounds seeking spiritual learning and reflection.

The site is easily reached by public bus, with directions posted at main entrances for first-time visitors. Visiting early in the morning or late afternoon works best when the spaces are less crowded.

The temple maintains a collection of Buddhist manuscripts and texts preserved through both traditional and digital methods. This project shows how ancient teachings are safeguarded for future generations through modern technology.
