Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center

Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center is an art museum in Taoyuan with two floors containing exhibition spaces and collections throughout. The building features five cubic structures designed after traditional Chinese seals and presents a clear concept in its architectural approach.

Construction of this specialized museum began in 2017 and the center opened to the public in 2021. The project was developed as a dedicated institution focusing on Chinese calligraphy art in Taiwan.

The center is dedicated to Chinese calligraphy and displays works by both local and international artists throughout its spaces. Visitors can observe different writing styles and appreciate how this art form remains important in tradition and contemporary practice.

The museum is open Wednesday through Monday during daytime hours and welcomes visitors regularly. Guided tours in Mandarin are offered daily to help visitors understand the works and building concept better.

The building integrates two distinctive design elements: a pavilion shaped like an inkstone and a pond designed like an inkwell. These details connect the functional architecture with the symbolic language of the calligraphy art form.
