Andriivka, Urban settlement in Volnovakha Raion, Ukraine
Andriivka is a small settlement in eastern Ukraine serving as a stopping point along a railway route between major regional centers. The community developed around its train station, which remains the primary landmark and focus of the built-up area.
The settlement was formally established in 1947 by combining a railway station with the former village of Kyzyl Tash, though rail infrastructure in the area had existed since the 1880s. This merger created the foundation for the community that exists today.
The population of 3,990 residents includes Greeks making up 40 percent, Ukrainians 38 percent, and Russians 21 percent of the community.
Access to the settlement is primarily through the railway station, which serves as the main point of arrival and a useful reference for navigation. Essential services and facilities are located close to the station, making the site easy to explore on foot.
The settlement was transferred from Telmanove Raion to Volnovakha Raion in December 2014 as part of administrative reorganization during regional unrest. This shift in jurisdiction reflected broader changes in the region's governance during that turbulent period.
