Olhynka is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast, situated in the administrative area of Volnovakha Raion. The settlement lies on terrain that rises to about 228 meters above sea level.
The settlement was established in 1779 during a period of regional development in eastern Ukraine. From 1935 to 1959, it served as the administrative center of Olhynka Raion before these functions were relocated elsewhere.
The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Church, built in 1853, underwent transformation during Soviet times before returning to religious service in the 1990s.
