Andriivka, Rural settlement in Sloviansk District, Ukraine.
Andriivka is an urban-type settlement in the Sloviansk area of eastern Ukraine, situated along the Sukhyi Torets river valley. The location contains local deposits of chalk and clay that have historically supported small-scale industrial work in the region.
The settlement formed from several villages including Bykivka, Yefanivka, Mazanivka, Sukhanivka, and Khomychivka in the early 1900s. It received urban status in 1938 but returned to rural classification in 2024.
The population of 833 residents reflects the demographic composition of eastern Ukraine, with a mix of Ukrainian and Russian communities in the region.
The settlement is best explored on foot or by local transport, as streets are compact and manageable. Nearby cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk offer more services and are easily accessible for additional supplies or facilities.
The construction of the Kursk-Kharkiv-Azov railway in 1869 through these lands changed the settlement's development trajectory and economic connections.
