House of scientists, Lviv, Neo-baroque palace in central Lviv, Ukraine
The House of Scientists features eight grand halls with ornate decorations, marble fireplaces, crystal chandeliers, and an oak staircase with carved railings.
Built in 1898 by Fellner and Helmer architects as an aristocratic casino, the building later transformed into a scientific institution after World War II in 1948.
The halls of the House of Scientists maintain traditional Lviv formal dances dating from 1482, connecting present gatherings with centuries of social traditions.
The venue includes multiple spaces for events, with the largest hall measuring 200 square meters and accommodating up to 200 people for conferences or celebrations.
Two stone atlantes support the first-floor balcony at the entrance, demonstrating the architectural mastery of late 19th-century European palace design.
