The monument, initiated by the Kharkiv State Technical University of Construction and Architecture in 2004, was officially unveiled on August 22, 2007.
The monument celebrates Oleksiy Beketov, who designed more than 40 buildings in Kharkiv and influenced the architectural development of the city.
Located at 40 Sumska Street in front of the university main building, the monument stands 3.5 meters tall and includes information plaques about Beketov.
The sculpture includes an unprocessed stone block with an ancient architectural element behind Beketov, symbolizing the connection between nature and construction.
