Митрополичі сади, Historical garden at St. George Cathedral, Lviv, Ukraine.
The Metropolitan Gardens extend across three terraces surrounding St. George Cathedral, featuring stone retaining walls and decorative landscaping elements throughout the grounds.
Between 1762 and 1771, the gardens were established near the Greek Catholic Metropolitan Palace, with stone fencing added in 1772 for enhanced security.
The gardens serve as the final resting place for notable Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church leaders, including Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky and Patriarch Josyf Slipyj.
Visitors can join guided tours of the gardens and cathedral complex, with special rates available for children under 12 and military personnel.
The gardens contain a grotto-shaped gazebo designed by K. Fesinger and include the oldest bell in Ukraine, housed in the cathedral's bell tower.
