Regimental Office House, Ukrainian Baroque administrative building in Kozelets, Ukraine.
The Regimental Office House is a brick building with rectangular form and gable roof, divided into several sections through small vestibules. The structure contains numerous rooms, a six-chamber cellar, and displays ornate brick details throughout.
The building was erected in the late 1690s for Colonel Yakov Kondratievich Lizogub of the Chernihiv regiment. Later it served as an administrative office and functioned for a time as Chernihiv City Hall.
The building shows how local builders mixed Ukrainian building traditions with Baroque style, visible in the way rooms are arranged and decorated. This combination reflects how craftsmen adapted European design ideas to their own construction methods.
The building is located in Kozelets and is viewable from the exterior, though access to the interior rooms is typically not available to the public. Visitors should enjoy the outer appearance and architectural details from the street.
The brick exterior displays elaborate lacework patterns that are typical of Left Bank architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries. These craft techniques were common to the region and still define the appearance of historic buildings in the area today.
