Kozelets

Kozelets is an urban-type settlement in Chernihiv Oblast in northern Ukraine, situated at an elevation of approximately 113 meters (370 feet). The settlement is crossed by roads linking major regional centers, with local administration offices, markets, and educational facilities concentrated in its central district.

The settlement was founded in 1098 and retained its administrative status through centuries of territorial changes within the former Chernigov region. Over the years, particularly after 1925, it underwent various administrative reforms that shaped its role in the territorial structure.
