Tunnel of Love, Tree-lined railway tunnel in Klevan, Ukraine.
The Tunnel of Love is a five-kilometer railway corridor near Klevan where a continuous arch of interwoven trees forms a natural tunnel above the tracks. The branches and leaves create a green passage that runs unbroken along the entire route.
The railway line was built during World War II to carry timber to a processing plant. Over the decades, trees grew over and around the tracks, gradually transforming the functional route into the green passage visible today.
Couples and wedding photographers gather here to capture photos beneath the leafy canopy while following local traditions of making wishes. Visitors can observe this practice happening regularly throughout the year, as the place has become a meaningful setting for people marking important moments.
The location is best reached by train from Rivne to Klevan Station, followed by a twenty-minute walk along the railway line and marked paths. The best time to visit is late spring through early autumn, when the trees are fully leafed out and the tunnel appears most green.
Despite its popularity, the line remains fully operational with trains passing through three times daily, naturally maintaining gaps between the branches. This ongoing train traffic actually helps prevent the passage from becoming overgrown and keeps its shape defined.
