The park spans 51,570 hectares of dense evergreen forests, glacial lakes, peat bogs, and alpine meadows across the Carpathian Mountains region.
The establishment of Zacharovany Krai National Nature Park in 2009 marked a significant step in Ukraine's initiative to expand protected areas for biodiversity conservation.
Traditional wooden churches and chapels scattered throughout the park demonstrate the architectural heritage of local communities in the Carpathian region.
Visitors can explore maintained trails that lead through various ecosystems, offering opportunities for wildlife observation and encounters with 48 mammal species.
The park contains 1,100 vascular plant species, including 35 endemic varieties that grow exclusively in this section of the Carpathian Mountains.
