Памятник Григорию Сковороде, Bronze monument in Kontraktova Square, Kyiv, Ukraine.
The 5-meter bronze statue depicts philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda standing with a travel bag pressed against his chest and wearing traditional clothing.
The monument was created by sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze and architect Vasyl Hnezdylov, and inaugurated on March 1, 1977 near the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
The monument faces the historical Kyiv-Mohyla Academy where Skovoroda studied and taught between 1744 and 1750 as a prominent educator and philosopher.
The monument stands in front of the Hostynnyi Dvir building and serves as a central meeting point for guided tours of the Podil district.
Students maintain a tradition of washing the monument every October 14 and placing graduation caps on the statue during graduation ceremonies.
