Sil

Sil is a residential area in the eastern part of Soledar, Ukraine, positioned at an elevation of roughly 74 meters above sea level. The district comprises several streets and residential blocks that spread through the area.

The district developed in the late 17th century when Don Cossacks established the first permanent structures in the region. Growth followed as the settlement became an increasingly important area for habitation.

The area sits above underground chambers created by centuries of salt extraction, placing it over one of Europe's largest salt deposits. This hidden geology shapes the foundation beneath the entire residential district.
