Hippo-Palace

Hippo-Palace is a two-story circus building in central Kyiv designed in the Art Nouveau architectural style. The structure features specially engineered performance spaces and stage mechanics that allowed rapid transitions between different types of shows and acts.

The building was constructed in 1903 by architect E.P. Bradtman as an innovative architectural response to the growing demand for circus entertainment. Its design represented a significant moment in European circus architecture and the modernization of performance venues.
