PinchukArtCentre, Contemporary art center in central Kyiv, Ukraine.
PinchukArtCentre is a contemporary arts centre in central Kyiv, occupying several floors of a modern building. The galleries host rotating exhibitions featuring paintings, sculptures, video works, and installations by artists from many countries.
The centre was founded in 2006 by Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk and was among the first venues of its kind in the country. Since opening, it has grown into a key space for contemporary art in Eastern Europe.
The PinchukArtCentre regularly shows work by young Ukrainian artists alongside international names, giving the building a particular kind of energy. Visitors can see how local and global art perspectives sit side by side in the same rooms.
The centre is open Tuesday through Sunday and visitors can move through the galleries at their own pace. Since the exhibitions spread across several floors, it is worth wearing comfortable shoes and allowing enough time for a full visit.
The centre awards the Future Generation Art Prize, an international prize for artists under 35, given every two years. Through this award, some artists who are now known internationally were first introduced to a wider audience.
