A general named De-Witte commissioned this residence between 1908 and 1910, following the removal of height restrictions near Pechersk Fortress in the area. Construction occurred during a period when Kyiv was modernizing its architecture and establishing itself as a significant European center.
The facade displays floral motifs typical of the Art Nouveau style, making it stand out among surrounding buildings. Visitors walking past can observe the delicate details of poppies and hop leaves decorating the windows and walls throughout the structure.
