Yalynskii Waterfall

Yalynskii Waterfall is a cascade in the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve where water drops down a steep rocky slope. The flow moves through several tiers before reaching its most dramatic plunge, shaped by the surrounding mountainous terrain.

The waterfall was recognized and recorded by visitors in the late 19th century, as evidenced by inscriptions left in the area. It has been a noted feature of the mountain region since that period.

The waterfall remains a central natural landmark within the Zakarpattia region, drawing visitors to experience traditional Transcarpathian and Hutsul cuisine.

Access requires an experienced guide because the narrow path winds through dense forest with challenging navigation. Visitors should be prepared for difficult terrain and uneven ground throughout the route.

The water originates from mountain streams of the Yalyn River, which divide into multiple cascades before the main drop. These successive tiers create an interesting interplay of flowing water across different rock levels.
