Церква Святої Софії — Премудрості Божої

Saint Sophia Church in Lviv is a modern building with three clearly separate levels: the main temple on top, the chapel of Saint Clement below, and the crypt of the Holy Sepulcher at the lowest point. Each level serves as its own prayer space with distinct architectural character and function.

The bells at this church are named after important figures from Ukrainian Catholic University history, including Pope John Paul II. This naming tradition connects the local community to significant religious and academic figures across different eras.

The church is open to visitors from Monday through Friday, with regular services held throughout the week. It is best to visit in the morning or early afternoon when there are fewer services, allowing you to appreciate the interior more peacefully.
