Krasnyi Dvir Hill Fort

Krasnyi Dvir Hill Fort is an ancient fortified settlement in the eastern part of Kyiv marked by raised terrain and earthen embankments. The site covers a large area where multiple dwelling structures once stood side by side.

The settlement was built during the early Iron Age and served as a defensive post for Scythian communities. It formed part of an early network of fortified places that controlled river trade routes.

This place served as a gathering point where people built their community and established routines over generations. The remains reveal how residents constructed their homes and organized daily activities within the fortified space.

The site is located in the eastern part of the city and is accessible on foot, though the ground is uneven in places. Visitors should allow plenty of time to explore the different areas at a comfortable pace.

Excavations have uncovered storage facilities for grain and evidence of early farming techniques used by the settlement's residents. These findings show how people managed crops and preserved food supplies for longer periods.
