Dolgoch Falls, Waterfall system in Snowdonia National Park, Wales
Dolgoch Falls is a waterfall system in Snowdonia National Park where three separate cascades drop through a wooded gorge carved by the Nant Dolgoch stream. The water collects in pools among limestone rock formations as it descends the valley.
The gorge was shaped over millennia by water eroding through limestone, and mining operations in the area left visible openings in the rock face. These traces of past industrial activity remain visible to visitors walking through the valley.
The falls draw visitors year-round who walk through the woodland to experience the changing moods of the water as it moves through the gorge. Local people have long appreciated this spot as a natural destination within their landscape.
A circular walking route through the valley takes about 90 minutes at a moderate pace, with resting spots at viewpoints along the way. The path is accessible year-round, though it becomes slippery after heavy rain.
The location has appeared in filmed media, including a 1994 music production with two members of Led Zeppelin. This connection brought additional attention to the falls and helped establish its reputation beyond the local region.
