Creggan

Creggan is a housing estate in Derry situated on elevated ground across the townlands of Ballymagowan and Edenballymore. The residential area includes primary schools and recreational facilities that serve the local community.

The area became a restricted zone for British security forces in 1972 following rising tensions and the introduction of internment without trial. This period fundamentally shaped the relationship between residents and authorities.
