Broadhall Way, football stadium
Broadhall Way, also known as Lamex Stadium, is a football ground in Stevenage with capacity for more than 7,000 spectators. The stadium features the Main Stand with seating and designated standing areas, along with a pitch measuring approximately 100 meters long and 64 meters wide.
The ground was built in 1961 and has been home to Stevenage football clubs since the early 1960s. Over the years, multiple expansions took place, including significant upgrades in the early 2000s to meet the demands of higher league competitions.
The stadium's sponsorship name Lamex Stadium coexists with its original Broadhall Way identity among local supporters. Different areas attract different crowds: passionate fans gather in the East Stand, while families typically choose the North Stand for a calmer experience.
The nearest train station is Stevenage Railway Station, from which the stadium is easily accessible. Parking spaces are available north of the ground, and bus shuttles run from the town's bus station on match days.
In 2007, Stevenage became the first team from lower divisions to win at the new Wembley Stadium, capturing the FA Trophy against Kidderminster and York City. This remarkable achievement made their modest home ground the starting point for a historic moment in English football.
