Waterloo International railway station
Waterloo International railway station, Dead-end railway station in Bermondsey, London, United Kingdom.
The station features five platforms with a total length of 394 meters, covered by an expansive glass and steel vault supported by concrete columns.
The terminal served as London's Eurostar international rail hub from its opening in November 1994 until its transfer to St Pancras International in November 2007.
The station's platforms transformed into a theatrical venue in 2010, hosting performances of 'The Railway Children' complete with an operational steam engine.
The terminal building now operates as 'The Siding' shopping center, while some platforms have returned to regular rail service following extensive refurbishment.
The architectural design garnered multiple awards, including the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture and RIBA Building of the Year Award.

Train stations from around the world selected for their architecture. These buildings represent different periods and architectural styles, from neo-Renaissance to contemporary. Some are adorned with domes, glass canopies, sculptures, and frescoes, while others incorporate modern steel and glass structures. These edifices blend functionality with architectural quality, as demonstrated by Antwerp Central Station with its layered levels or Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai with its Victorian details.
