Goochland County

Goochland County is an administrative county in central Virginia located along both sides of the James River. The area sits in the Piedmont region and features a mix of farmland, river landscapes, and small communities.

The county separated from Henrico Shire in 1728 and was named after Sir William Gooch, royal lieutenant governor of Virginia. This establishment reflected growing administrative needs in the expanding colony.
