Aliquippa, Industrial city in Beaver County, Pennsylvania
The city extends along the Ohio River, northwest of Pittsburgh, featuring residential neighborhoods and former industrial areas spanning across riverside terrain.
Originally established as Logstown in 1750, the settlement served as a trading post between French settlers and Native American tribes before its transformation into Aliquippa.
The Jones and Laughlin Steel Company mill shaped the development of distinct neighborhoods, creating a multicultural community of steel workers from various European backgrounds.
Interstate 376 provides direct access to Pittsburgh International Airport, while the Ohio River location enables transportation and industrial activities.
Named after a Seneca leader Queen Aliquippa, the city trained troops under General Anthony Wayne in 1793 before the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
