Lewisburg, County seat in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, United States.

Lewisburg is a city in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, situated on rolling terrain near the Greenbrier River. The downtown area features historic buildings, local shops, and tree-lined streets characteristic of a traditional American small town.

The town was officially established in 1782 by the Virginia General Assembly and named after Andrew Lewis, who set up a camp at Lewis Spring in 1751. The settlement developed from this early military outpost into a regional center for commerce and government.

Carnegie Hall, built in 1902, hosts theatrical performances, art exhibitions, and community events that shape the town's cultural life. The building remains a gathering place where residents and visitors experience local arts and music throughout the year.

The city is easily accessible via U.S. Routes 60 and 219, making it straightforward to navigate by car. Greenbrier Valley Airport provides flight options to larger cities if you prefer to arrive by air.

The North House Museum displays artifacts from the 1862 Battle of Lewisburg, a Civil War engagement that took place within the town. This lesser-known episode of American conflict history comes alive through carefully preserved collections in this historic house.
