St. Johnsbury, County seat in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States

St. Johnsbury sits at the meeting point of three rivers - the Passumpsic, Moose, and Sleeper's - covering 36.8 square miles of northeastern Vermont.

The settlement changed names from Bessborough to Dunmore before receiving its current designation in 1790, when 143 inhabitants held their first town meeting.

The Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium houses natural science collections, while the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum stands as the sole National Historic Landmark in Caledonia County.

The town maintains access to three major highways: Interstate 91, Interstate 93, and U.S. Route 2, connecting residents to regional transportation networks.

Local manufacturer Fairbanks Scales produced precision measuring equipment, while Maple Grove Farms processes substantial quantities of pure maple syrup for distribution.
