Rochester Hills

Rochester Hills is a city in Oakland County, Michigan, covering roughly 33 square miles (85 square kilometers) north of Detroit. The area consists mostly of residential subdivisions, parks, and commercial zones connected by main roads and smaller side streets.

Settlement began in 1817 with the arrival of European families and later evolved into Avon Township in 1835. The city took its present name in 1984 when the community officially incorporated as Rochester Hills.

The Paint Creek Trail links neighborhoods to green corridors and serves walkers, cyclists, and joggers throughout the week. Families often gather along its wooded sections on weekends to explore the path together.

The city lies near Detroit and is accessible through several major highways that run through the area. Visitors will find shopping centers, restaurants, and recreational spaces spread across different parts of the community.

Innovation Hills Park features a 112-foot (34-meter) rope suspension bridge positioned 20 feet (6 meters) above the ground. This construction is the only one of its kind in the Detroit region and regularly draws families who come to cross it.
