Indiana Statehouse

The Indiana Statehouse is a government building in downtown Indianapolis featuring Neoclassical architecture with limestone walls, grand columns, and a central dome rising above a four-story structure. Construction of this governmental center began in 1865 under architect Edwin May and reached completion in 1888. The project extended over two decades and represented a major investment in the state's institutional presence.

The building houses over 40 public artworks including sculptures and a large mural depicting the Spirit of Indiana. These pieces are woven throughout the interior spaces that visitors walk through each day.
