The monument stands 38.5 feet tall on a base measuring 29 feet in length and 21 feet in width at the southeast corner of the Statehouse grounds.
The bronze components of the monument were cast in Rome by Alessandro Nelli, following the design of American sculptor Richard Henry Park.
