The settlement began in 1811 when Jonas Williams constructed a mill near Glen Falls, where the main road between Batavia and Buffalo crossed Ellicott Creek.
Old Home Days festival takes place every summer at Island Park, starting with a parade and continuing for four days with carnival rides and food vendors.
