Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve

Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve is a protected forest area encompassing wetlands, ponds, and forest habitat across nearly 300 acres. A network of walking trails connects the different ecosystem zones where wildlife moves throughout the seasons.

A physician purchased the property in the 1930s and converted it into a private nature sanctuary through large-scale tree planting. This founding established a lasting refuge for forest and water resources in the region.

Visitors walk the forest paths and observe beavers, white-tailed deer, and waterfowl moving through their natural habitat throughout the seasons. These daily encounters with local wildlife shape how people experience and connect with the land.

The trails are accessible daily from sunrise to sunset and offer walking routes suitable for different fitness levels. The education center at the entrance provides information and guidance for exploring the grounds.

The education center was built using recycled materials and energy-saving systems that minimize water use. This design demonstrates how modern buildings can operate in harmony with nature.
