Paine House, House museum in Washington, Coventry, United States.
The Paine House consists of a 2.5-story wooden building with multiple sections, featuring Colonial-era architectural elements and period furnishings throughout its rooms.
Built in 1748 by Francis Brayton near the Pawtuxet River, the house received a tavern license in 1785 before the Paine family acquired it in 1866.
The Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society maintains the property as a museum, displaying artifacts and exhibits that represent daily life in Colonial Rhode Island.
Located at 7 Station Street in Washington village, the museum opens to visitors on Saturdays between May and September for guided tours of the premises.
The structure incorporates materials from an earlier sawmill that operated on the site in 1691, connecting the building to the area's industrial development.
