Roslyn Village Historic District

Roslyn Village Historic District is an area containing buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries spread across about 65 acres. The structures mainly line the streets around Main Street, East Broadway, and Old Northern Boulevard.

The area was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, protecting important buildings from that point forward. This recognition followed efforts to save many older structures from being demolished.

The district displays different building styles that show how local tastes evolved over generations. Walking through the streets, you notice how different houses and structures stand side by side representing different time periods.

You can explore the area on foot while respecting the signs and guidelines that protect the historical buildings and private properties. It is best to move at a slow pace and look closely at the architecture.

During the 1960s, activists relocated several older houses to East Broadway to save them from demolition. This unusual effort allowed important structures to be preserved in place.
