Forbes Galleries, Exhibition gallery at Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, United States
Forbes Galleries was an exhibition space housed in the Forbes Building on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan spread across two floors. It displayed over 12,000 military miniatures, toy boats, artworks, and historical objects all presented behind glass.
Malcolm Forbes founded the space to display his personal collection accumulated over many years. The galleries operated as a showcase for his collecting passion until portions of the collection were sold to other collectors.
The galleries displayed toy boats, military miniatures, and early Monopoly boards that reflected how toys and games shaped American entertainment across generations. Visitors could see how playthings changed as tastes and technology evolved.
Entry was free and the space was open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Union Square station provided convenient access via multiple subway lines for easy arrival.
The collection included oddities such as a trophy for White Leghorn chickens and early circular Monopoly boards from 1933. These curious objects reveal how collectors sometimes preserve things with personal value, not just conventional treasures.
