Fort King

Fort King is a military fort in Ocala, Florida, featuring a reconstructed wooden fortress set within roughly 40 acres of land. A visitor center and marked walking trails guide people through the grounds and surrounding natural landscape that surrounds this former military outpost.

The fort was established in 1827 and served as a key military station during the Second Seminole War. After the conflict, it was repurposed as Marion County's first courthouse.
