The 618,000 square foot Federal Reserve complex includes a 14-story tower and a two-story base containing cash processing and operations facilities.
The building, completed in 2008, stands on the former site of St. Mary's Hospital and represents the first Federal Reserve structure built after September 11, 2001.
The Money Museum inside the building displays a 27-pound gold bar and a 463-piece presidential coin collection from the Truman Library.
The facility maintains high security protocols while offering public access to educational exhibits about currency and monetary policy through its museum.
In 2011, the building featured a temporary 65-foot sculpture made from 117 shipping containers displaying 'IOU' on one side and 'USA' on the other.
